Their marriage promises to be a happy one, but Yolande knows very little about her husband.
Years go by, the Revolution breaks out, and France dreams of a new society. Between her relationship with her domineering husband, her passionate love for her son, her affair with the Marquise Camille de Préval and the secrets of a past that come back to haunt her, Yolande will risk everything to conquer her freedom.
